A few days ago me and a friend visited Carmel Jyoti, an orphanage, located in the outskirts of Imphal city in Manipur, India. These children were born HIV positive. The orphanage is affiliated with the Congregation of Mother of Carmel, which also run an excellent girls only school in Manipur, Nirmalabas High School. I was truly thankful that these children were not only given good care by the sister nuns but were also given a loving environment. But these children are among the least fortunate ones in Manipur today. Interacting with these children has been one of the important events that has happened to me this summer. Deeply inspired again to contribute in ways possible. The orphanage is in extreme need for support in any form.
